On June 12, 2018 , the World Federation of Acupuncture held a ceremony for the

awarding of the Inheritance Base for Acupuncture-Moxibustion of TCM WFAS in New York,

USA. The ceremony was co-sponsored by the American Acupuncture Association and the

New York Natural Acupuncture & Wellness. President Liu Baoyan and Secretary Ma Ying of

the World Federation of the United Nations visited New York as the base, the Counselor of

the Chinese Consulate General in New York, Xing Jijun, the representative of the US House

of Representatives, Meng Zhaowen, the representative of New York State Senator Toby

Ann Stavisky, the New York City Councilman Gu Yaming, and The American TCM

acupuncture community colleagues have witnessed the important moment of the award of

the first Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion base in the United States.

At the ceremony, Chairman Liu Baoyan expressed warm congratulations and delivered

a speech on the establishment of the New York Heritage Base. "The American Acupuncture

Association and the New York Natural Acupuncture & Wellness jointly established this new

base, which will be acupuncture and moxibustion in New York, USA. An important platform

that has been passed down." He said that the establishment of an international heritage

base by the World Federation of Acupuncture is an important strategic measure for the

protection and inheritance of the academic ideas and characteristic techniques of the

outstanding Chinese acupuncture predecessors and the outstanding contributions to the

development of Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion. In recent years, in addition to the

successful representation of the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture”, four

representative inheritors: Cheng Yinong, He Puren, Guo Chengjie, Zhang Wei, and the

World Federation of Acupuncture also recommended international representative inheritors

through the establishment of an international heritage base: (China Beijing) Li Xinwu and

(China Macao) Wei Fengpo two acupuncture everyone. The listing in New York City is

based on Hong Borong and Zhang Wei as the representative figures, especially the

applied in 183 countries and regions around the world, providing China with global health.
